Cosmic Warehouse Band

Our Cosmic Warehouse family consists of Neil Board on lead guitar, Gord Dowling on bass guitar, Al Smail on drums, Jim Bruton on keyboard, as well as all you folks out there who share our passion of classic rock blues music and feel rhythm and blues as the pulse of your souls.

Originally founded in 1991, original group members Neil Board and Gord Dowling are still together after nearly 20 years of rhythm rockin' rhymes, shaking rafters of establishments all over southern Ontario and upper New York state.

Many talented musicians have come to play with our cosmic family. For a period of a time the original Cosmic Warehouse cover band focus was put on ice, while efforts of musical director and lead guitarist Neil Board, with help from John Tate on drums, Gord Dowling on bass guitar, Peter Boyten on keyboard, we formed a new tribute band named Couldn’t Stand The Weather. This collaborated project effort was a tribute to legendary electric blues guitarist, singer, as well as song writer; Stevie Ray Vaughan and his friends.

We enjoyed much success as a Stevie Ray Vaughan tribute band while managing to secure appearances in well known venues such as the Hard Rock Cafe Skydome in Toronto (Skydome now known as Rogers Centre) as well as Jeff Healey's Road House in Toronto Ontario to name just a few.

Phil Morrison, manager of Healey's Toronto dropped by to sign the guestbook and speaks about our former incarnation as a Stevie Ray Vaughan Tribute band named “Couldn't Stand The Weather”…

“Guaranteed to please the crowd and keep them rockin'; Couldn't Stand The Weather is one of the only tribute band acts Healey's will have on it's regular schedule”

The Cosmic Warehouse family has gone through evolutionary changes over time as evidenced on the history page. Years 2005 until 2007 brought about a lull in appearances as group members John and Pete left; we took some time out to regroup ourselves. But one thing that has never changed throughout many years, probably never will, is our passion for rock music. Driven by this passion, combined with perseverance and determination throughout a two year search for the right personalities and abilities we found our men. We welcome Al Smail on drums as well as former Max Webster keyboard player Jimmy Bruton whose passionate enthusiasm shines through their playing, raising The Cosmic Warehouse up a notch.

We're back in business, rafters will be swaying once again! We look forward to a fantastic 2009; hope you and your friends will come out to enjoy some of our blues and rock music with us when we come to your southern Ontario or upper New York state towns, see you on the road!
